A firewall can be enabled on each network interface to protect the server against unwanted access or attacks from the network.
A firewall can be enabled on each network interface as long as it is connected to the network. The "Activation" checkbox is found in the "Network" tab.
Add Firewall Rules
When you activate a firewall all incoming data traffic will be blocked.
You are able to select and map the rules using the TCP, UDP and ICMP protocols under "Manage Rules".
A MAC address can be entered here to be allowed through the firewall.
You can enter all IP addresses here that are allowed through the firewall.
If you use virtual IP addresses on the same network interface you can enter them here to allow access.
Port Range Start
Set the beginning port for an entire range of ports (if needed).
Port Range End
The port range end is set here. If only one port is required, use the same port given in "Port Range Start".
Choose an ICMP type here. For example: 0 or 8 for echo requests (ping) or 30 for Trance routes.
Here you can enter (if necessary) any special ICMP code. For example: 0 for echo requests.
