What is the best way to protect data and improve performance with RAID
Reliability of performance and security are ensured, to a large extent, by storing data in parallel, i. e., in two separate zones of a data center. Reliability and security would barely improve by mirroring mass storage devices such as RAID 1.
Striping with RAID 0, or the combination of increased security and access speed through RAID 5, would also barely have an effect, and the same is true for a DRBD device.
Note: We do not recommend striping in general as it interferes with additional security measures that we apply in order to ensure data integrity over the parallel storages.
