ProfitBricks Selected as Finalist for MIT Sloan CIO Symposium’s Innovation Showcase
The 10th Annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium has announced ProfitBricks as one of ten finalists for the 2013 Innovation Showcase as its industry’s first, true virtual datacenter represents a cutting edge B2B solution that combines strong value and innovation to enterprise IT. ProfitBricks will receive key exposure to many of the world’s most creative and influential IT executives at the Symposium on May 22, 2013.
Cambridge, 05/16/2013 – After careful consideration, the Innovation Showcase Judges, (consisting of MIT faculty, entrepreneurs, and early-stage investors) chose ProfitBricks as it:
- Is a start-up with less than $10 million in 2012 revenue or Series A VC funding
- Is selling B2B or B2C enterprise IT solutions to CIOs or corporate departments
- Shows innovation as well as potential impact on the top and bottom lines
“It’s an honor for the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium to recognize ProfitBricks as an innovator for the cloud computing 2.0 movement,” said ProfitBricks USA CEO Bob Rizika. “We are dedicated to accelerating the pace of cloud infrastructure and look forward to sharing our vision for the future of the cloud with the MIT community.”
ProfitBricks’ IaaS solution includes the industry’s first Data Center Design tool, plus the ability to scale servers vertically without rebooting, and to create unlimited private network connections and more. ProfitBricks is built on an InfiniBand-based meshed network technology to bring high performance computing capabilities to the cloud and offer a better price-performance ratio than the major cloud computing providers. ProfitBricks also introduced the first true minute-based billing to the cloud.
“We are pleased to award these top ten Innovation Showcase finalists, as their technologies represent cutting edge solutions with strategic value,” said David L. Verrill, Executive Director of the MIT Center for Digital Business, and the Co-chair of the Innovation Showcase. “The Symposium provides these early-stage companies a foundation to demonstrate their solutions that are architecting the future of technology and creates an environment for valuable partnership opportunities.”
